Ryan Seacrest has signed a contract to return as host of American Idol.

TheWrap reports how Seacrest has signed a deal to return as host for American Idol's fourteen season. Seacrest's deal also includes and option for him to return as host for American Idol's fifth teen season as well. Seacrest has been the host of the show since it started back in 2002.

American Idol was recently renewed by FOX for it's fourteenth season. Later this year the show will be holding auditions in various cities to discover new musical talent. The cities that auditions will be held in include Portland, Oregon; Columbus, Ohio; Kansas City, Missouri; Richmond, Virginia; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

TV Guide reports that American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. are all expected to return to the show. In this past season American Idol has seen a decrease in the ratings, however the show's executive producer David Hill, said that the ratings aren't going to be high like they were in previous years. Hill stated, "It's never, ever going to achieve the amazingly huge numbers of five or six years ago, but it's going to be a staple on the Fox network for a long, long time."
