Washington insiders are considering Obamacare. Known for his turn of phrase, Arizona Republican John McCain was quick to add his thoughts to the matter.

McCain said in response to Sylvia Mathews Burwell ’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, “After all, who would recommend their friend take over as captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg?” according to The Washington Times. McCain added that Burwell ignored his advice and “accepted the nomination anyway, continuing her pattern of public service,” according to Politico.

Though he was quick to judge, McCain, an Arizona Republican, said he will support Mrs. Burwell in replacing the departing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. It’s likely that McCain, like many Republicans, has concerns about available policies and flexibility.

Burwell says the first point on the matter is implementation of the healthcare bill. She said that is going to look for balance and examine how the pieces of the law are working together.
