A settlement for guardianship of Modern Family star Ariel Winter has been reached.
People reports that an agreement was done before a trial was set to begin for guardianship of Winter, 16. Winter's mother Chrisoula Workman accepted to drop her protests to guardianship only if Winter would watch a video containing a montage of family pictures before court would go into recess. Daniel Murphy, the Superior Court Judge agreed and Winter and her sister Shanelle Gray looked on with tears as family photos from their childhood years were shown. Winter left without saying anything, but Murphy uttered it was her choice of whether or not she wanted to see her mother. Since 2012, Winter has been living with Gray, after was granted temporary guardianship, after allegations were made that Workman was exposing Winter to physical and emotional abuse.
Previously, a different judge asserted how an beginning report by child protective services discovered evidence of emotional abuse, but accusations of physical abuse were considered to be inconclusive. Winter's dad will have control of the her finances and has to make reports to the court. Murphy noted he would keep jurisdiction over Winter and her care until she turns 18 years old. Gray and Workman released a joint statement expressing how, "The family has moved beyond the conflict."
Radar Online reported last month how Chrisoula Workman, served subpoenas to Bank of America, Morgan Stanley smith Barney LLC, and City National Bank, looking to have them give up any documents related to Winter's finances. However, Winter's father filed three separate motions to revoke the subpoenas.
