X-Men: Days of Future Past scribe Simon Kinberg offered up a couple details regarding the cast and director for the next planned X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse.
The writer and producer of the latest hit X-Men film sat down with the Daily Beast and revealed some information for the next planned film in the franchise.
Kinberg was asked about the cast for Apocalypse and he explained that while the film will continue to follow the younger cast who took front and center in the previous two films, "it will certainly have some of the original cast."
He also revealed that the current plan is for Bryan Singer to come back and direct the film sequel, even as the director is dealing with sexual assault allegations, which Kinberg opted not to address. The scribe decided to instead note that he believes that modern day superhero movies come from Singer's "template."
Kinberg said, "I remember when I saw 'X-Men,' and I thought he redefined the way people made comic book films."
Days of Future Past has done well so far during the Memorial Day weekend grossing $90.7 million domestically, bringing the film's worldwide cume to $261.8 million.
The film was expected to gross about $110 million over the four-day holiday weekend, so Days of Future Past has a lot of ground to cover on Monday to even hope of hitting that mark.
