Authorities and state media have said that six people were injured after they were stabbed at a railway station in southern China on Tuesday morning.
According to Reuters, police shot and wounded the knife-wielding suspect, who attacked travelers around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at a railway station in China's southern city of Guangzhou.
The Associated Press reported that the six victims were taken to area hospitals and so far no motive for the attack has been given.
This is the latest in a violent string of incidents that have been occurring at the country’s transport hubs.
Last week, a deadly explosion left two attackers and a civilian dead and 79 people wounded at a railway station in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang.
And in March, another attack occurred at a railway station in the southwestern city of Kunming, where machete-wielding attackers killed 29 people and wounded 143. Four assailants were shot and killed by police in that attack, and four more were apprehended.
