As if fans weren’t excited enough about Jay Z and Beyonce’s upcoming joint tour, On The Run, which will launch in Miami on June 25, the couple has released a star-studded short film ahead of the tour’s kick-off.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Sean Penn, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Dìaz and sisters Rashida and Kidada Jone all appear in the trailer. It was directed by Melina Matsoukas.
CNN notes Beyonce and Jay Z appear as a Bonnie and Clyde-esque couple on the run from the cops. It features music from both of them, including their joint hit “Part II (On The Run).”
Beyonce’s seen in various sexy moments in lingerie, but she also shows her dangerous side shooting a gun and running from a police officer.
The couple have had a rough past week, as elevator footage leaked of Solange Knowles violently attacking the “Holy Grail” rapper. They’re most likely hoping this trailer distracts from the scandal. They did issue a statement about it, saying “They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
