Production on J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII began in London today, his production company, Bad Robot, announced on Twitter. That single message has caused a frenzy at the social network.

Bad Robot posted an image of a slate with the names of Abrams and cinematographer Dan Mindel, a longtime collaborator with Abrams. Mindel worked on both of Abrams’ Star Trek movies and also lensed Savages and John Carter.

The only text included with the photo is a hashtag that reads, “#dayone.”

Episode VII is being filmed on studios in London and, reportedly, on location in Abu Dhabi. The cast was finally announced last month, with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayher and Kenny Baker all returning.

The new cast features Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, newcomer Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max Von Sydow.

Episode VII will be released on Dec. 18, 2015 by Disney and Lucasfilm. The title hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s possible that the studio may be holding back something big to announce at Comic Con this summer.

That tweet caused a frenzy on Twitter in just eight hours. It has been retweeted nearly 7,000 times.
