The Steve Miller Band will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of their album The Joker with a release today of the album live. The album will be released in partnership with Kobalt Music Group’s AWAL digital platform.

Billboard reported that the live album has been released today and is made available through iTunes and in a CD format though Amazon.

The live version features unreleased tracks and other exclusive for fans.

Miller released a statement regarding this milestone and huge accomplishment in the band's musical career. "When several friends and colleagues reminded me that it was the 40th birthday of 'The Joker' album, I smiled -- and started playing the whole album’s songs live again -- and at the end of the last tour realized we had a great new record that we wanted to share with our fans. We hope you like it as much as we did playing and recording it.”

The Steve Miller Band will be going out on tour this summer with Journey and both groups are excited about the tour. In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Miller discussed plans for the tour. "I think Journey and Tower Of Power and the Steve Miller Band, we're all part of the core of original groups in the San Francisco music scene. This is a social phenomenon as well as a musical phenomenon," said Miller.
