Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley hospitalized for collapsed liver and kidney due to alcoholism.

The New York Daily News reports that Whibley, 34, has been hospitalized for a month due to his alcohol abuse.

Whibley confessed on his website that he could die if he has another drink.

"The reason I got so sick is from all the hard boozing I've been doing over the years. It finally caught up to me." Whibley wrote. "I finally realized I can't drink anymore. If I have one drink the doc's say I will die."

Whibley was in intensive care for the first week of his hospitalization. He was sedated, and unsure of where he was when he woke.

Whibley took light of the situation, explaining that he now has new material, and hopes to be writing and touring soon.

"I have my passion and inspiration back for writing music. I already have a few song ideas for new songs. Soon it will be time to start making an album and getting back to touring again," Whibley wrote.

According to Rolling Stone, Sum 41's last album, Screaming Bloody Murder, was released in 2011, one year after the divorce of Whibley's 3-year marriage to Avril Lavigne.
