Authorities said a commercial airline pilot was hospitalized over the weekend after he attempted to smuggle in 62 bags of cocaine on a flight from Colombia to Houston.

Click2Houston noted that pilot Stanley Rafael Hill was not flying the plane, but was a passenger when one of the bags ruptured in his stomach.

Hill allegedly ingested 250 mg of cocaine packaged in small rubber gloves. Police said one of those gloves ruptured in the 49-year-old’s stomach during the flight to Bush Intercontinental Airport. The pilot called for help after he checked into his hotel room.

The New York Daily News reported that Hill was treated for poisoning and eventually passed the remaining bags.

He was arrested and has been charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to deliver.

It is not clear at this time what airline Hill is or was employed by in the past, but he is licensed to fly 737s.

His bond has been set at $500,000.
