A woman in College Station, Texas got quite a surprise last week when she discovered a 12-foot python in her bathroom.

According to the Eagle Newspaper, Veronica Rodriguez said that when she went into her bathroom and turned on the light she noticed the snake slithering into the bathtub.

“As soon as I turned on the light, that's when I saw it,” she said. “It was a huge scare.”

A terrified Rodriguez ran outside to call 911 and animal control officers arrived to remove the African rock python from the home using a 10-gallon bucket.

Authorities believe that the large snake may have got in through Rodriguez’s back door. The 50-year-old was bathing her daughter’s pet guinea pigs and had left the door ajar for a few minutes.

CNN noted that Aggieland Humane Society Executive Director Kathy Bice said that the reptile was not illegally owned and its owner reported it missing a couple of months ago.

The python has since been returned to its owner.
