The Black Keys have announced plans to launch a world tour in support of their new album, Turn Blue. The duo announced the North American leg of the tour, which will begin in Ohio in September.
Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach appeared in a video today to announce the tour. Like other promotional materials for the album, it looks like it was shot on video tape. In it, the two hold a press conference to announce the news. Auerbach is met with applause, while Carney is booed at. Then, the feed breaks to show color bars before going back to the lectern.
The video ends with the tour dates and says that tickets go on sale on Friday, May 16. The full itinerary is also available at their site.
Ohio fans will get to see the group first, as they open on Sept. 5 in Columbus. The tour includes dates in Boston, Brooklyn, Washington DC, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta and Orlando. On Dec. 21, the group will play their last show in Kansas City.
Special guests on the tour include St. Vincent, Cage the Elephant and Jake Bugg.
Turn Blue will be released on Tuesday and features the single “Fever.” The album is currently available to stream on iTunes.
