Monica Lewinsky has written an article for Vanity Fair, detailing her relationship with former President Clinton and the effects that it has had on her life. She is coming clean and continuing to tell her side of the story.

The article is released digitally on May 8th and in the physical copy of the magazine on May 13th. Lewinsky wrote the article herself. It has been almost twenty years since the Clinton sex scandal happened. Because of that, a timeline has put together to educate the reader on the history of Monica Lewinsky.

Lewinsky grew up in California. She attened Santa Monica Community College for two years. In those years, she had a five-year affair with her married high school drama teacher. She graded from Louis & Clack College with a psychology degree in 1995. Following that graduation, she went to Washington to work.

July 1995: Lewinsky took an unpaid summer internship in the office of the White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta. She moved to a paid position in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs in December of 1995.

November 1995-March 1997: Lewinsky and President Clinton had nine sexual encounters that included fellatio but not sex.

April 1996: Lewinsky is transferred to a job at the Pentagon because the White House staff felt that she was spending too much time with President Clinton

September 1997: After Lewinsky confided in her friend Linda Tripp about her affair with the president, Tripp began taping their phone calls.

January 1998:Lewinsky submitted an affidavit, stating that she did not have a physical relationship with the president. Lewinsky also tried to convince Linda Tripp to lie. Tripp instead gave the tapes to the lawyer.

January 26, 1998: Clinton made the infamous speech, denying any relationship with Lewinsky. IT was in that speech when he said “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”

July 28,1998: Lewinsky received immunity in exchange for testimony concerning her relationship with Clinton. She also turned the infamous semen-stained blue dress that Tripp had told her not to dry clean.

August 17, 1998: Clinton admitted that he had an “improper” relationship with her.

December 1998: The senate held a 21-day impeachment trial. The republicans of the senate believed that he had crimes of obstruction of justice and perjury. The senate voted for acquittal.

September 1999: Lewinsky started her own handbag line. The company name was The Real Monica, Inc. The bags were sold in New York, Los Angeles and London.

January 2000: Lewinsky became the spokesperson for Jenny Craig. While she signed a $1 million endorsement deal, the weight loss company ended the partnership in April of 200 and only paid her $300,000.

June 22, 2004: President Clinton releases his autobiography, My Life. Lewinsky felt that he was being unfair in his description of their relationship. She released a statement, making it clear that the sexual relationship was mutual. She left the limelight and moved to London after the book was published.

December 2006: Lewinsky graduated with a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics.

May 8th: Lewinsky releases an article in Vanity Fair about her life and reaction of the Bill Clinton scandal.
