The Daytime Emmy Awards are known for recognizing achievements in all fields of daytime television broadcast from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some of the announcements for major categories was made on Good Morning America.

The Young and the Restless scored the most nominations, with 26 overall, followed by The Bold and the Beautiful with 18 nominations. General Hospital failed to gain any nominations, but One Life to Live became the first online soap opera to have a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, according to Michael Fairman On Air.

Nominees for the Outstanding Drama Series are: The Bold and Beautiful, Days of our Lives, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless.

The Bold and the Beautiful had two actresses to be nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama Series; Katherine Kelly Lang and Heather Tom. The soap opera also had the actor Scott Clifton nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actor. Linsey Godfrey and Kim Matula were also nominated in other categories.

The show also received nominations in outstanding writers, directing team and lighting.
