On Tuesday, the White House released a climate change report that predicted that the country could receive more crippling droughts and devastating storms.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the updated report released by the Obama Administration calls for urgent action to be taken in order to counter the impacts that touch every corner of the U.S.
"Climate change, once considered an issue for a distant future, has moved firmly into the present," the National Climate Assessment report said. "Americans are noticing changes all around them. Summers are longer and hotter ... Rain comes in heavier downpours."
CNN reported that more than 300 experts contributed to updating the previous assessment that was published in 2009.
The President is expected to speak to meteorologists about the report’s findings and on Wednesday, the White House convenes a summit that will focus on green building tactics. Also, later in the week, the administration will announce new solar power initiatives, counselor John Podesta said.
After a winter that brought record snowfall totals and sub-zero, polar vortex temperatures to most of the U.S., many Americans are eager to make an effort to try and combat this growing problem.
