Emergency workers in Texas are responding to wildfire that broke out over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety said that no one has been hurt, according to the Associated Press. The fire broke out near Fritch, located about 30 miles northeast of Amarillo.

Fritch Police Chief Monte Leggett says 75 percent of the fire has been contained. Department of Public Safety State Trooper, Chris Ray says the exact amount of damage is unknown at this time. Ray said that they were evacuating the area of Harbor Bay, Sandford Fritch Estates, and Vincent Development. Approximately 2,100 residents have left the area. Ray said, "We don't know if they're completely burned or partially burned. We just haven't been able to get in there to evaluate," according to NewsChannel10.

As of Monday morning, winds were gusting up to 30 mph in the area, according to the National Weather Service. Officials have reporting that approximately 75 homes have been destroyed. He also said that The Red Cross is assisting families who have been affected by the crisis.
