22 Jump Street could have as lucrative of an opening as 21 Jump Street. 21 Jump Street was released in 2012. According to Forbes, 21 Jump Street earned $201 million at the box office, while the budget for the film was $45 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 22 Jump Street brought in an astonishing $8.1 million in the U.K. last weekend.
22 Jump Street follows the comedic journey of two undercover officers. The movie takes elements from the television show on which it was based and explodes it for the big screen. In this version, the Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill go under cover at a local college. Ice Cube also returns for the upcoming series.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller direct the film. They were also the directors of the popular film, the LEGO Movie. Screenwriters for the film include Michael Bacall, Oren Uziel, and Rodney Rothman.
