The Allman Brothers Band has announced that they will be playing the final six shows on their current tour. These final six shows might be the last for the group for all-time.

Billboard reported that the band will be returning to New York's Beacon Theater for six shows that still be taking place in October. They will be playing on Oct. 21, 22, 24 and 25. These shows are rescheduled dates from this year's March Madness run that was postponed when Gregg Allman came down with pneumonia.

Two more concerts were added for Oct. 27 and 28th.

Billboard interviewed Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers and he spoke about why these shows could be the last for the group. "That's the way for this incarnation of the band to go out, one final, short Beacon run," said Trucks. "I think that's appropriate for this version of the group. I think we've done most of our best work there (at the Beacon)."

Trucks and fellow band member Warren Haynes announced earlier in 2014 that they would both be leaving the group this year, Rolling Stone added.
