Amelia Rose Earhart will fly around the world.
The 31 year old pilot was named after the famous woman, Amelia May Earhart, who made headlines 77 years ago for attempting to fly around the world.
With the popular name, people did ask if she wanted to follow in the footsteps of the female pilot who flew all around the world, Amelia Earhart.
"It was a lot to handle. You don't want to talk about yourself or your future career at that point in your life because you're not working toward a career yet," Earhart said on a recent afternoon in an interview at her contemporary 14th-floor apartment in south Denver, according to The Denver Post.
On Friday, Amelia will set out on a flight around the world in a single-engine plane called Pilatus PC12. This Amelia will have a GPS, her iPad, and her laptop, while her namesake had none of the modern conveniences.
She is planning on following a route similar to the one that Amelia May Earhart attempted over 70 years ago in order to “close her flight plan,” according to HereandNow,
