Apple Inc. will begin creating its first smartwatch this coming July that is expected to hit the markets this fall. Many people who are accustomed to the company’s mannerisms noted that the watch is expected to have 10 different sensors, including one to track health.
According to Reuters, those people described the features of the watch. The smartwatch is presumed to measure 2.5 inches diagonally and rectangular in shape. The face of the watch will make an arch and will be activated by touch; the watch will also have the ability to charge wirelessly.
The watches will be produced by Taiwan's Quanta Computer Inc., which is the same company that has produced some of Apple’s Mac computers. Apple has not given the watch an official name, but Apple fans have decided to call it the iWatch.
Apple is diving into the wearable tech gear market at the perfect time. Sales for this type of technology are anticipated to triple by the end of this year. Google and Samsung have already jumped on the bandwagon and have created devices that are voice activated, able to detect geographic regions, and measure body temperature. Nike has also come out with a wearable technology product that tracks physical activity, to The Wall Street Journal noted.
Apple’s smartwatch is expected to debut this coming October.
