Apple decided to make a few improvements and substantially cut down the price for their iPod Touch devices.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple decided to add cameras as well as color options to their new entry-level model the same way its available on the higher capacity iPod Touch devices. The new improvement on the 16GB model is the rear-facing five megapixel camera with five different colors, namely, yellow, pink, blue, silver and space gray.
In addition to that, they reduced the price of the 16GB model from$229 to $199. They also reduced the price of the 32GB model from $299 to $249. The 64GB model come with an amazing price of $299 which was $399 before. This is a flat reduction of $100 for the 64GB model.
apple insider accounts that Apple's portable media players are a tiny portion of the company's business which is led by the iPhone and the iPad. Apple also used to announce at their quarterly meetings that over half of all their iPod sales came from the iPod Touch. Since 2013, the market for iPods continued to shrink. Just last quarter, sales of iPods went down to 2.7 million units. In spite of that, Apple is still the leader of portable media devices.
