Ben & Jerry’s has already made ice cream flavors based on Saturday Night Live sketches, but the ice cream company announced a return to SNL-inspired flavors on Thursday. Two new flavors based on SNL sketches were unveiled.
Up first is Lazy Sunday, which is based on Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell’s famous 2005 digital short about how much they love cupcakes and The Chronicles of Narnia. The vanila ice cream features pieces of cupcakes, with a chocolate swirl.
The second flavor is Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch, which is inspired by Kristen Wiig’s incredibly annoying Gilly character. It features chocolate and sweet cream ice cream with a marshmallow swirl, fudge-covered almonds and caramel clusters.
The ice cream flavors are timed with the show’s 40th anniversary. Of course, Ben & Jerry’s hasn’t needed an excuse like that before to do SNL-based flavors. Back in 2011, the company introduced the “Schweddy Balls” flavor. They also did a 30 Rock flavor as well last year.
Lazy Sunday and Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch are available at Ben & Jerry’s locations startign today.
