The debatable question as to whether eating breakfast in the morning is good or bad has finally been answered.

This study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Breakfast, according to Tech Times, is considered to be the most important meal of the day by many Americans. A new study has disproved this belief.

The study found that those who skipped breakfast lost a similar amount of weight as those who ate breakfast regularly.

Researchers said that there are many benefits to regularly eating breakfast, but weight loss is not one of them.

"We thought it was important to test this commonly held assumption," said lead author Emily Dhurandhar. "Since short-term studies suggest that eating breakfast may help regulate appetite and metabolism, it has often been assumed that this would translate to breakfast enhancing weight loss."

The study, according to Fox News, followed 309 healthy, but overweight or obese people for 16 weeks.

All those who participated were given nutrition advice, but none of them were given any advice about breakfast. Researchers found that there was no significant weight loss among those who ate breakfast regularly.

The team of researchers hope to conduct more research in order to fully evaluate what makes up a healthy diet.
