Country musician, Chris Young is currently recovering from surgery. As a result of this surgery he was forced to cancel his performance which was scheduled for Saturday night at the CMA Music Festival's evening concert at Nashville's LP Field.

CMT reported that the "Aw Naw" singer recently cut his left hand with a kitchen knife on Thursday while he was making dinner in his home. Young was hosting his annual fan club party on the General Jackson showboat.

Because of his cut he was forced to have to cancel a four-hour autograph session that had been scheduled for Friday during the Fan Fair X exhibit at the CMA festival.

Young underwent surgery on Friday at a local Nashville hospital. The surgery was in order to repair the damaged tendons in his hand. He was able to leave the hospital on Saturday morning because of his surgery he had to cancel his performance at the CMT Music Festival.

The festival has not yet found a replacement for Young. The festival will feature Sara Evans, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker and Keith Urban.

Rolling Stone added that along with Young not being able to perform, Gary Allen has also been sidelined due to vocal issues.
