The Buena Vista Social Club has announced its world tour, the ‘Adios Tour.’

The group includes leading musicians from the island of Cuba, who have shared the stage with Sting and Shakira. According to NBC News, they are still delighting fans after two decades.

“The name of the tour is very strong - the `Adios Tour,'" Jesus Aguaje Ramos said, according to the Associated Press. "But for me it's more of an `until next time.' We are musicians, and we have to do this."

The Buena Vista Social Club is a popular group that was born when Ry Cooder brought Cuban musicians together to play on a 14-track album. The innovative album won a Grammy. The popularity of the music also created the possibility for an Academy Award nominated film.

Scholars and fans have embraced The Buena Vista Social Club. The Buena Vista Social Club was a key part of the “great golden age of music in Cuba,” according to Raul Fernandez, a social scientist at the University of California in Irvine.

The tour will begin on Wednesday with a performance in Poland. It will run through 2015 and wrap up concert in Havana.
