Actor and comedian Dave Coulier has finally answered an age-old question ... Is Alanis Morissette’s You Outta Know song really about him?

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed.com, the Full House star put to rest the rumor that Morissette’s lyrics were based on their breakup. Well, sort of.

"I dated Alanis in 1992. You know, it's just funny to be the supposed subject of that song," he said. "First of all, the guy in that song is a real a-hole, so I don't want to be that guy."

Coulier also said that after the song came out he called his ex about it and she told him that the song could be about “a bunch of people.”

People Magazine pointed out that the 54-year-old’s new story contradicts what he has said in the past about the singer and the break-up anthem.

Morissette has never publically revealed who the song is about.

Coulier will be featured on Oprah Winfrey’s Season 4 premiere of Oprah: Where Are They Now? on Sunday. Maybe she will press him to set the record straight once and for all.
