Dermot Mulroney has been cast as a lead role in Insidious Chapter 3.

Deadline reports that director Leigh Whannell, who also serves a writer, revealed via Twitter that Mulroney has officially joined the cast as one of the lead roles.

Mulroney will join Disney's A.N.T. Farm star Stefanie Scott, who was cast earlier this month. Mulroney's previous work includes The Grey, Jobs and August: Osage County.

According to Boomtron, Mulroney recently starred in the short lived NBC drama Crisis, but was cancelled mid-season. NBC decided to air the remaining episodes, but will cease after the airing of its season finale.

The third film in the Insidious franchise will be produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse, James Wan and Oren Peli. Focus Features has scheduled an April 3, 2015 United States release date.

Character details and plot for Insidious Chapter 3 are not being shared at the moment. Shooting is set to begin July 7.
