Dominic Purcell will be replacing Cuba Gooding Jr. in the upcoming action thriller from Hackybox Pictures, Gridlocked. Purcell is known for his work on the Fox drama Prison Break.

The Canadian film, will be directed by Allan Ungar. Gooding was going to play a former SWAT team leader who has to keep interacting with an over the top arrogant movie star, The Hollywood Reporter added.

Gooding was set to play the lead character but had to drop out of the project for unknown reasons.

Purcell will be acting along side Vinnie Jones and Stephen Lang who are also attached to the project. Production is set to start on July 7 in Toronto and London, Ontario.

Bruno Marino, Geoff Hart, and Jenna Mattison will be producing the film. No release date has been announced for Gridlocked but the film will be distributed by Lionsgate and VVS Films.

The Jerry Maguire actor is still set to be featured in the upcoming Martin Luther King biopic, Deadline added.
