Elizabeth Olsen is on a mission to prove that she can still do smaller indie films while taking on bigger studio projects. The Godzilla actress will be back in theaters soon with Very Good Girls, a college drama about best friends hoping to lose their virginity after high school.
Dakota Fanning and Olsen star as the title girls, who are about to head off to college. During the summer, they hope to find the right guy. Unfortunately, they both find the same guy, played by Boyd Holbrook, notes Entertainment Weekly. The two fight and, assuming the film follows the regular trajectory, the two learn to set aside their differences after some sage advice from the adults in their lives.
Speaking of the older cast, it includes Richard Dreyfuss, Clark Gregg, Ellen Barkin, Peter Sarsgaard and Demi Moore.
Very Good Girls was written and directed by Naomi Foner and opens on June 24. Jenny Lewis did the music for the film.
Olsen recently starred in Godzilla as Aaron Taylor Johnson’s wife. She is also going to be the Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
