A fake cop was arrested after he tried to pull over a real officer driving an unmarked car in Florida.
According to the Florida Times-Union, Matthew Michael Lee McMahon was charged Tuesday after he tried to pull over Det. Justin Anderson as he drove by him.
McMahon allegedly displayed a red and blue light bar on his Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
When Anderson pulled over, McMahon drove up next to him, pointed his finger at him and drove off.
The detective obviously did not recognize the 20-year-old as one of his colleagues.
"I was shocked to, number one, see somebody affecting a traffic stop on me," Anderson told First Coast News. "We are a rather large department, but I still know a majority of our law enforcement officers."
Anderson decided to pull McMahon over for a real traffic stop and arrested him on charges of impersonating an officer and unlawfully displaying the lights.
As if the fake cop attempting to pull over a real cop isn't ironic enough, part of Anderson’s assignments are to catch police impersonators.
