The family of the 12-year-old girl who was viciously stabbed in the ‘Slender Man’ case have spoken out about their daughter’s recovery.

According to the Associated Press, the family made a statement Tuesday, saying the Wisconsin girl has been making progress in her recovery and was able to attend a movie outing with her dad.

She was stabbed 19 times and according to family spokesman Steve Lyons, she has limited mobility as she still suffers from breathing issues.

Her two 12-year-old classmates, who believed they would be gaining approval from the fictional Slender Man, who is featured in online horror stories, lured the victim into a wooded park. When the girls left after believing they had killed her, the victim was able to crawl her way to a road where she was eventually discovered.

NBC News reported the family said while she still has a lot of progress to make in her recovery, she is moving toward a “miraculous road to recovery.”

They released two photos showing the kind of support the victim received, including a tree canopy that was created from paper hearts that were sent from all over, and another of the girl with a thank you card in her hands. Her face is not seen in the photo.
