The first head-on photo of Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey has been released via Focus Features, to mark the fictional character’s birthday.

“Happy Birthday Christian Grey #FiftyShades,” the film’s official Twitter page wrote.

The picture was shared across the film’s official social media sites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. There have already been two posters released, but this is the first shot where Dornan is shown up close and facing the camera.

The film, based on E.L. James’ best-selling book trilogy, is due out in theaters on Valentine’s Day 2015. Production was delayed for a month to allow Dornan - who famously replaced Charlie Hunnam – adequate time to prepare. The film also stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.

The first footage was shown during Universal Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on March 25. Donna Langley, Universal Pictures chairman, said at the time, “Nobody outside the studio has seen a frame of footage.”
