20 students were sent to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia when their peer brought a bag of heroine to school.
According to CBS News, a teacher called the police when students were seen playing with the mysterious packets.
The packets were soon identified as heroine.
The girl brought 10 packets of heroine to Barry Elementary School, NBC News reported.
The first grader who brought the heroine also complained of stomach pains.
"The young girl that brought it in did feel a little dizzy and didn't feel well. So we sent her over to CHOP to make sure she's okay,” said Philadelphia Police Captain John Przepiorka.
As a precaution, all of the students in her class were rushed to the hospital and evaluated. No injuries were reported.
A relative of the girl told NBC that the substance did not come from the girl’s home.
“I have no idea. I know it aint come from her house. I know that for a fact,” she
said.
It has not been revealed whether or not the girl’s mother will face charges.
