A judge in Florida and a public defender got into a physical altercation after an argument in court on Monday.

According to WFTV, Judge John Murphy is accused of punching public defender Andrew Weinstock, after the two argued about whether his client could have a speedy trial in Brevard County.

The exchange between them was captured on closed-circuit video.

"You know, if I had a rock I would throw it at you right now," Murphy told Weinstock. "Stop pissing me off. Just sit down."

"You know I'm the public defender. I have a right to be here and I have a right to stand and represent my client," Weinstock said.

The judge then told the attorney that he would “beat his ass” and the scuffle happened in an area where there weren’t any cameras.

The Associated Press noted that court deputies had to break up the fight.

Murphy was not arrested and no charges have been filed against him at this time.
