Olalla Oliveros is best known for her modeling and acting career. But it seems as though the Spanish beauty is trading all that in for something different.
Oliveros recently made the decision to give up her glamorous lifestyle to become a nun, the Daily Mail reports. Oliveros joined the Order of Saint Michael and is now known as Sister Olalla del Sí de María.
Oliveros’ decision to join the Order of Saint Michael was spurred on by a recent trip to the shrine of Our Lady of Fátima in Portugal, says the Huffington Post. The site also directly quoted Oliveros in an interview with El Diaro de Carlos Paz where she expressed feelings of “unhappiness” despite her successful modeling and acting career. Oliveros is said to have experienced an “internal earthquake” after visiting the shrine.
In addition, Oliveros said she had several “visions” of herself dressed in nun’s clothing, Inquisitr notes. And while Oliveros was initially a bit skeptical about joining the convent, she eventually warmed to the idea.
“The Lord is never wrong,” says Oliveros in a quote taken from the Christian Post. “He asked if I will follow him and I could not refuse.”
Catholicism is a growing religious phenomenon in Spain, according to the Christian Post. The number of female religious orders is also growing.
Oliveros is 36 years old, notes the Christian Post.
