A former television reporter for FOX 5 in New York was sentenced to 26 years behind bars for multiple charges including the sexual assault of his then 4-year-old daughter.
According to the Associated Press, a judge in state Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey handed down the sentence on Friday to Charles Leaf.
CBSNewYork reported that the on-air TV personality was arrested in 2010 on three counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
In 2011, Leaf’s wife claimed that her husband was falsely accused of assaulting their daughter and that their nanny told the child to lie.
During the trial, the now 8-year-old girl took the witness stand and withdrew her earlier allegations.
Leaf’s father also came to his defense and said that it was really him, not his son, who had looked at porn on the internet.
The jury, however, did not buy it and in February they found Leaf guilty of the assault, child endangerment and possession of child pornography.
