Four kids hospitalized after mother drove with them on hood

A Texas woman was jailed for having children ride on the hood of her car, instead of inside the vehicle, because their swimsuits were wet.

According to NBCDFW, the children were hospitalized Tuesday evening after they were thrown from atop a car driven by Kisha Young.

Some of the children were Young’s, while others were those of a passenger in her vehicle.

The children were swimming at a neighborhood pool earlier and instead of getting her Chevrolet Malibu’s interior wet, she decided to let them ride on top of the truck and hood.

The 38-year-old’s inexcusable and shocking decision landed four of the six children, between the ages of 8 and 14, in the hospital.

CBS News noted that authorities said Young failed a field sobriety test at the scene and they are awaiting toxicology results.

Young faces felony charges that include driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15. Charges are pending against the other adult passenger who was in her vehicle.
