DreamWorks has a co-financier in 20th Century Fox for Steven Spielberg's planned Cold War spy thriller set to star Tom Hanks.

Fox has stepped in to handle international distribution of the 2015 film, leaving the domestic side to Disney, who is DreamWorks' partner on the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. DreamWorks and Fox previously worked together on Spielberg's 2012 film Lincoln.

The nonfiction thriller follows attorney James Donovan who finds himself involved in the Cold War after an American U2 pilot is captured and he is sent to negotiate for their return. Daniel Lupi is on board to executive produce, while Marc Platt, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg will produce.

The script for the still untitled film was rewritten by Joel and Ethan Coen. On Monday, the film was given a release date of Oct. 16, 2015 and will be Spielberg's next film.

The release date for his other project, an adaptation of the popular Roald Dahl book The BFG, is set for July 1, 2016 and with the dates not that far apart, it's possible that Spielberg will work on both at the same time. He's previously done that on several films, including Jurassic Park and Schindler's List.
