Although general movie-going audiences probably know Frank Grillo best for his appearance in Captain America: The Winter Solider earlier this year—despite having established himself in shows like Prison Break over the years—he may soon be known for another property altogether, as he has just been cast as the lead in the upcoming American remake of The Raid.

Grillo told We Got This Covered that he was cast in the Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) remake as the lead. Grillo was among the four actors up for the part. In addition to Grillo, Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie and Ethan Hawke were also considered for the part.

Filming on the movie was supposed to be taking place in September, but it got moved to early 2015 to find its lead. In addition to revealing he got the part, Grillo also confirmed these reports by noting that filming will be starting in January.

Grillo will next be seen in The Purge: Anarchy on July 18.
