Sublime is well known in the music industry for hits like "Santeria" and "What I Got." Now Rome, the frontman for Sublime, is talking about his upcoming solo project and announced a release date for his debut solo album Get Free.
Billboard reported that Get Free will be released by Fueled By Ramen on Aug. 12. The first single, "If The World," is going to be released in the upcoming weeks.
Rome has been working on his solo debut in El Paso, TX along with producer/songwriter Dave Bassett. Basset has worked with bands like Shinedown and Halestorm. Get Free will feature Rome playing instrument on the album with only a few exceptions which will feature 10-tracks. The album will also feature drummers Michael McDermott of Bouncing Souls and Rome's Sublime bandmate Josh Freese.
Rome recently spoke about what his vision is for this first solo record. "Creating 'Get Free' was a liberating experience that showcases everything I have learned and experienced to this point. It was a wicked roller coaster that was written and recorded in the desert of El Paso, Texas, with the Mexican Cartel right beneath our feet. I couldn't be any more anxious to release this to the world," said Rome.
Even though Rome is working on a solo project, Sublime is still together, making music and making headlines.
Sublime recently made headlines for having the police called on them for smoking an illegal substance at the KMFA Day concert at Tucson Electric Park, TMZ added.
