Could anyone imagine that it has been 30 years since the most important question of all cinematic history has been asked? “Who you gonna call?”
This weekend marks the anniversary since the well known film first hit theatres back in 1984 and now Entertainment Weekly is reporting that come August 29th, everyone can re-watch the film in its original setting – the theater. Yes, Ghostbusters is coming back to the movie screens in over 700 different locations to be enjoyed as it has been digitally re-mastered for todays technology.
Sony’s president of worldwide distribution told EW that, “Ghostbusters is still one of our studio’s most beloved franchises.” The re-release should be a huge success but that is not all.
MarketWatch is also announcing that on Sept. 16th fans can purchase the 30th Anniversary edition of the film on Blu-ray. Plus the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition, which will be making it’s own Blu-ray debut. For a limited amount of time, fans will be able to purchase both together in a special edition gift set.
