It is one of the most heart warming and incredible thank you stories of a lifetime.

Aaron Ybarra, 26, opened fire on Thursday at Seattle Pacific University in hopes of killing as many people as possible. While Ybarra succeeded in a body count of 1 and injuring 3 others, a courageous young man who tackled the shooter brought him down. His name is Jon Meis, a 22-year-old student who is getting married in two weeks.

Buzzfeed reports that investigators are now calling Meis a hero for not only tackling the shooter, but also pepper spraying him and confining him with others until police arrived. As word began to about the boy’s selflessness, the Internet wanted to thank him for saving hundreds of lives.

Strangers found him and his fiancés wedding registry from Target and Crate & Barrel and shared it along social media sites such as Twitter and by Friday, everything had been purchased from both registries.

The story does not end there as people wanted to do more for the couple and so began the campaign to fund their honeymoon. The campaign was so powerful that is raised its goal of $5,000 in a number of hours. As of right now, $23,937 has been donated to the couple.

The couples wedding will be June 21st and feel free to check out their wedding website here.
