56-year-old Kenneth Webb has been arrested after a police found him hiding under a child’s bed in a New Jersey home Thursday. He was found armed with a knife.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. The homeowner, Darla Donohue, heard the piggy bank in her 6-year-old son’s bedroom rattling. Fortunately, the 6-year-old was sleeping with his mother and baby sister in another room.

Darla told NBC News, “I felt my heart beating out of my chest and knew I had to do something, so I just go up out of the bed, he might have heard me. I got the phone, turned the light on in the hallway between the bedroom and I was in and the bedroom he was in.”

Darla called 911 and reported that an intruder was in her home. Police responded and found 56-year-olf Kenneth Webb hiding underneath the boy’s bed.

Webb had allegedly stolen jewelry along with cash in 6-year-old Joshua’s piggy bank. Joshua told NBC News, “He was trying to steal my money but I don’t think he got anything.”

North Jersey reports that Webb was charged with two counts of burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He was sent to Bergen County Jail with a bail set at $35,000.
