Hundreds of people have joined the search for a 9-year-old New Mexico girl who went missing Friday from her family's campsite at the Samuel P. Taylor State Park in Northern California.
Marin County Sheriff's Office are leading the search for Ida Rothschild who disappeared a little past noon, Lt. Doug Pittman said, reports the Bay City News Service. She was missing for about half an hour before her family realized she was gone.
Pittman said that two hours after the girl went missing, the family was forced to contact the authorities after being unable to locate her. He said that though nine public agencies, with more on the way, and more than 100 volunteers were searching for the young girl, nothing has been found. Two hundred more volunteers showed up to help search on Saturday.
"We don't have any new clues or evidence with regards to her whereabouts," Pittman said, according to SFGate. While she has not been located, there are no signs of foul play.
The family first visited Muir Beach before coming to the campground with their other kids, two young boys.
