Jennifer Lopez has canceled her performance in Brazil for this year's World Cup opening ceremony.
A rep for the “First Love” singer released a statement to E! News which said, "We can confirm the accuracy of FIFA's statement. Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies."
The original plans included Lopez, Pitbull, and Claudia Leitte performing the World Cup's official song in Sao Paulo, Brazil this Thursday, June 12, according to The Associated Press.
Representatives for the singer didn't provide specific reasons for the change of plans, though soccer's governing body stated that it's due to unspecified “production issues.”
FIFA stated in a news release that the official World Cup song, “We Are One,” will be performed by Pitbull and Leitte, though the song has not become a hit in Brazil due to Brazilians' disappointment in the scarcity of Portuguese lyrics.
Brazil will be playing against Croatia in Sao Paulo during the opening game on Thursday.
