Oklahoma City Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins says all-star teammate Kevin Durant could get stronger. Perkins feels the greats in the game past and present have hit the weight room in order to not be pushed around. The names Perkins mentions are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. He says this as words of encouragement to his MVP teammate.

"I feel like he could get stronger, in my opinion. I think that would help him a lot. I told him all the good and great players that played the game, from Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, they all put size on them, and it helped them," said Perkins, according to ESPN.

Perkins feels there were times when Durant looked tired. Especially during possessions when the team had the ball. Perkins drove the point home if Durant lifted weights he could just let his body take over in situations where he was tired.

“Seems like there was possessions he was tired. But like I said, I think that’s (when) getting in the weight room plays a factor. Cause then you could let your body take over,” said Perkins, reported by NBC Sports.

Durant has won four out of the past five scoring championships in the regular season. Besides LeBron James, he is regarded as one of the top players in the NBA. However, Perkins knows what it takes for the Thunder to get better. He has won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, so Perkins is speaking from veteran experience when he mentions that Durant should have more muscle.
