Legendary Entertainment and Universal Pictures have signed a deal with the IMAX group to release some of their major studio films in IMAX theaters. The deal will feature 15 studio films that will be released through 2017.

Variety reported that the deal is an extension of the companies relationships.

Some of the main films that will be shown on the IMAX screen include, Dracula Untold, which will be released in October of 2014, Fast & Furious 7 which is set to hit theaters in April of 2015. Also being shown on the large screen format includes, Jurassic World, Everest, Crimson Peak and Warcraft.

In a statementreleased by Universal And Legendary, Thomas Tull, Legendary's Chairman and CEO, commented on the partnership and that he is pleased the relationship will be extending.

The IMAX platform has performed over and over again for Legendary, and through this deal we will continue to deliver an unparalleled filmed entertainment experience, as well as showcase the work of our directors in a way that resonates with audiences around the world," said Tull.

"We are also pleased that our partners at Universal recognize the value of an IMAX release, and have joined us to formalize this long-standing relationship."
