It’s not every day someone’s mug shot has admirers, especially thousands of shares and likes on Facebook.
30-year-old Jeremy Meeks from California gained instant social media attention when his mug shot was posted on the Stockton Police Facebook page, reported the Daily Mail.
Within 24 hours, the picture received nearly 20,000 likes and thousands of comments.
Many of the admirers, mainly women, had interesting things to say about Meek’s mug shot.
“He needs to be a model. I would buy whatever he’s selling,” one woman wrote.
Others took to his defense.
“He didn’t know any different. I could turn him into a “model” citizen. Where can I pay his bail?” another woman wrote.
Meek was arrested on weapon charges on Wednesday, reported News Limited.
His bail is set at $900,000
The high bail didn't seem to phase fans of Meeks.
"If we all pay one penny each, we can bail him out. Who's with me? Lol," someone commented.
A Facebook fan page for Meeks was set up. It currently has over 5,000 likes.
The fan page lists Meeks full name, his age, height and weight.
