According to United Press International, the 25-year-old man from Suzhou, China was found dead in front of his television on Saturday morning.
He was discovered hours after the Netherlands defeated Spain on Friday. The game finished 5am Chinese time.
Doctors did not release the exact cause of death, but said it could have been exhaustion or a heart attack due to the man staying up late, China Daily reported.
The 11-hour time difference between China and Brazil has caused many fans, like the man, to stay up late watching the game.
The doctors warned football fans to be cautious of their health.

At least two other sudden deaths in were blamed on sleep deprivation.
According to the Daily Mails, a 39-year-old Zhou Meng from Shanghai, suffered a stroke while watching the World Cup Saturday night.
Meng was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The man stayed up for a total of three consecutive days.
Another 50-year-old man died in a car accident that took the lives of four other passengers in his vehicle.
