A California man has died while attending a major music festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Montgomery Tsang, 24, died on Saturday after he attended the first night of the Electric Daisy Carnival. The Clark County Corner's Office announced the news but did not provide a reason or cause of death, Reuters reported.

Over 140,000 people attended the first night of the three day Electric Daisy Carnival, which is one of the most well attended electronic music festivals in the world.

Producers of the event released a statement following the death of Tsang, saying that they were "deeply saddened" and hoped that concert goers would do their part to keep the rest of the festival safe, The Hollywood Reporter added.

"We are deeply saddened by this news and hope that everyone will join us in keeping his family and friends in their thoughts during this very difficult time," Jennifer Forkish a spokewoman for the event said.

Las Vegas police at the event added that they received 250 calls during the first night but only for minor medical issues. Only five of those calls resulted in trips to the hospital.

Back in 2010, a 15-year girl died at the festival, which resulted in the event being high criticized and security being reviewed.
